Which CV files can I upload?
Updated 8 October 2026
Files we accept
- PDF (.pdf)
- Word (.docx)
- Photos: JPG, PNG or HEIC (the format many iPhones use)
The largest file you can upload is 10 MB.
No file on your phone?
Take a clear photo of your printed CV instead. Put it on a flat surface in good light and make sure every line is readable.
Is a CV required?
Usually not. A CV is optional unless the employer marks it as required for that job. When it is required, the job page and the CV step say so, and you can't send the application without one.
"Checking your file…"
After you upload, we check every file for safety before it goes any further. This usually takes a few seconds. If a file can't be accepted, you'll see a message asking you to choose another one.
If your upload fails
- Check the file is one of the types above and under 10 MB.
- An older Word file (.doc) may not be accepted. Save it as .docx or PDF and try again.
- Try a different network if the upload stops partway.
Your CV and your Career Passport
If you have an account, your CV can also fill in your Career Passport. Nothing from your CV is added until you accept each suggestion.
